It is part of the identity of Wellington College that we host large-scale Festivals of various types; typically, we run an annual Arts Festival and a regional Festival of Education.
Here in Bangkok, our Festival programme will begin in the 2019-20 School year.
The Arts Festival will celebrate all artistic forms and disciplines through a collection of workshops, talks, performances and productions, delivered by a wide range of renowned artists and experts, from the UK, Thailand and across the world. As well as key activities for children of all ages, we will provide specific sessions for adults, with the aim of encouraging everybody to participate in this vibrant annual appreciation of the arts and their importance within and beyond education.
The Wellington College Festival of Education aims to stimulate and spread fresh ideas regarding all areas of learning and teaching. The Festival encourages everyone to join the educational debate – listening to lectures; engaging with innovative and thought-provoking workshop sessions; considering out-of-the-box ideas. Special guest lecturers from Wellington College in the UK and from the education community across South-East Asia will visit Bangkok to offer students, parents and visitors first-hand experience of engagement with a range of educational topics.
We also run a wide variety of smaller events through the year – from weekly Parent Workshops on all sorts of school-related topics to seasonal events such as the Christmas Fayre, a celebration of arts, crafts, cuisine, sport and other miscellaneous activities hosted in the College grounds, to concerts, sports tournaments, Science Week, inter-House competitions and a variety of educational and cultural events such as Loy Kratong celebrations.
