Miss Duna Carbonell joins WCIB in 2019. She has a BA in Fine Art from London’s Central St Martins School of Art and a PGCE teaching qualification in Art and Design from Goldsmiths, University of London. Before becoming a teacher, Duna worked as a professional photographer, and was drawn to teaching after running Art workshops for young people in institutions like the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum in London.
Since then, Duna has taught children aged 8 to 18 in the UK, New Zealand and Thailand, a country she is excited to call her home again. Her most recent post was at Dulwich Prep School in London, where she led the Art department, helping students achieve places and Art scholarships at some of the most prestigious Senior schools in the UK.
“As a Wellington teacher, I feel a strong commitment to providing my students with an inspirational education that awakens in them a love for learning, celebrates individuality, promotes creative thinking and gives them the confidence to solve problems independently and collaboratively.”
