Miss Emma Cornick joined WCIB in 2019. She completed her Bachelor of Education with the University of Tasmania and has been working in early years classrooms for 11 years. Emma has worked internationally in Qatar, England, the United Arab Emirates and now Thailand. During this time, she has taken on team leader positions as well as running a nursery attached to a primary school in England.
Last year Emma was invited to speak at a conference in Prague to discuss how STEAM can be integrated in classrooms across the Early Years and ways to link with other year groups.
She is passionate about play-based learning as well as the natural environment and how to bring this indoors. She came to Wellington seeking new challenges while working in a school with an amazing reputation, incredible facilities and highly experienced teachers.
“I aim to provide the best opportunities for children to learn while also nurturing a love for life through wonder and awe. I look for opportunities to inspire children and encourage them to think independently and to question the world around them.”
