Lucy Trotter joined Wellington College Bangkok in 2018 as an EYFS teacher. She has a First Class Honors degree in Geography from Queens University Belfast, UK; a Buisness Diploma from Arcadia University, USA; and a PGCE from Buckingham University, UK. Lucy has been working in education for four years, with the majority of her experience focused on the Reception yeargroup. Before completing her PGCE, Lucy gained very valuable experience working as a teaching assistant in two international Early Years settings for several years.
Lucy works to ensure that children in the Early Years are given solid foundations based on real life experiences, using relatable and practical scenarios to help them understand the world around them. She particularly enjoys sharing her love of reading with the children, and the teaching of early phonics, which gives children their first opportunities to read and write independently. Lucy is keen to foster a ‘can-do’ attitude in her pupils, where children are aware of their own strengths and try their best. She enjoys giving the youngest members of the school family the skills to improve their independence, make choices for themselves and be resilient.
