Mr Marcin Kempka joined Mathematics Department at Wellington Bangkok in August 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master’s in Educational Administration, and a U.S. teaching license. With over 20 years of international teaching experience—mainly in Thailand, and more recently in China. Mr Kempka has taught IGCSE and IB Mathematics, helping students exceed expectations and even achieve medals in international maths competitions. He has also held leadership roles such as Head of STEAM and Head of Academics, mentoring colleagues and supporting curriculum development. Despite these roles, his greatest passion remains in the classroom, guiding students to build confidence and enjoy mathematics. Mr Kempka is committed to making maths clear, engaging, and relevant. Outside of teaching, he enjoys road cycling, tech gadgets, global news, and solving maths problems for fun and inspiration. "For me, teaching mathematics is about showing students its beauty, logic, and value. Some of what we cover in class might never come up in everyday life—and students are absolutely right to question that. But mathematics teaches them how to think clearly, reason critically, and solve problems. These skills apply far beyond the classroom and are essential no matter what path they choose in life. I want students to see that learning maths is not about memorising formulas, but about learning how to approach challenges with clarity and persistence. That is what I want to pass on, and what I look forward to bringing to the classroom at Wellington".
