We are an academically selective school. All applicants are assessed and interviewed before being offered a place.
Academic Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students applying for entry into Year 9, Year 10, and Year 12. A minimum mean CAT score of 118 is required, alongside positive school reports and strong academic references where applicable.
These awards recognise exceptional intellectual ability, academic potential, and the drive to excel.
Successful Academic Scholars take part in a bespoke programme that includes:
- Personal development workshops
- Public speaking coaching
- Academic enrichment
- Specialist mentoring and extension activities
If your child demonstrates exceptional academic talent, please highlight this during the application process.
Sport Scholarships
Wellington offers a select number of Sports Scholarships, primarily in Golf, Swimming, and Tennis, although exceptional student-athletes in any sporting field are welcome to apply. These scholarships are available for students entering Year 7 and above.
Applicants should currently be competing at regional, national, or international level. As part of the assessment, our Head of Golf, Head of Swimming, Director of Sports, or an appropriate specialist coach will review your child’s achievements, rankings, tournament results, and commitment to training in their chosen sport.
Sports Scholars play a significant role in our community and are encouraged to contribute across all areas of school life, not only in sport.
Although spaces are limited, we warmly welcome applications from talented athletes in all disciplines. Please indicate your child’s sporting specialty and achievements clearly in the application form. Our team will then contact you to discuss next steps before progressing the application.

For students entering Year 9 or Year 12, achievement on a second instrument at Grade 6 or higher is expected. Scholars should also intend to pursue IGCSE or A Level Music as appropriate.
Our Director of Music will assess each applicant’s performance, potential, and commitment to further study.
