Discover Wellington at Our Open Mornings

Choosing a school is a significant decision, and there is only so much that families can learn from a website or prospectus.  An Open Morning provides the ideal opportunity to experience a school during a normal working day, see lessons and activities taking place, and gain a much more personal sense of its community.  We were therefore delighted to welcome prospective families to our recent Senior School Open Morning on 17 September, followed by our Early Years and Junior School Open Morning on 23 September.  Both events gave visitors the chance to explore Wellington College Bangkok, learn more about the different stages of a Wellington education, and speak directly with the people who know the school best.

Seeing the School in Action

Each Open Morning included a presentation from the relevant Heads of School, providing an introduction to our educational approach, curriculum, pastoral care, and wider opportunities. Families were also taken on guided tours of the campus, led by our fantastic students.

Student-led tours offer a particularly valuable perspective.  As families visited classrooms, specialist teaching spaces, sports facilities, libraries, and performing arts areas, they were able to hear directly from students about their lessons and daily experiences at Wellington.  Visitors could also see the school in action rather than viewing an empty campus outside normal teaching hours.  Throughout the morning, families had opportunities to meet members of our senior leadership and Admissions teams. Current Wellington parents were also available to share their experiences and answer questions about school life from a family’s point of view. 

Why Attend an Open Morning?

An Open Morning provides a broad introduction to the school and can be particularly helpful for families who are beginning their search or comparing several possible options. It allows parents to understand how the different parts of the school connect, while children can begin to imagine what it might feel like to become part of the community.  It is also an opportunity to look beyond facilities and explore the atmosphere of the school. Families can observe how students and teachers interact, see how learning environments are used, and ask questions about the areas that matter most to them.

Private Tours Are Also Available

We understand that an Open Morning may not suit every family’s schedule or provide enough time to discuss individual circumstances. Prospective families may therefore also reserve a private, one-to-one tour with a member of our Admissions team.  A private tour can be arranged at a mutually convenient time and tailored to the age of your child and the areas of the school most relevant to your family. It also provides more time to discuss the admissions process, entry requirements, curriculum, and any specific questions you may have.
