Thailand Festival of Education returns to Wellington College Bangkok

The Thailand Festival of Education returns to Bangkok on Saturday 7 November for its 4^th annual event, bringing educators from across Thailand together for a day packed full of ideas and professional learning and development opportunities.

Hosted here at Wellington College Bangkok, the Festival is organised through The Bridge, Wellington College's professional learning and education community. It is designed to bring together teachers, school leaders and education professionals from across the sector, regardless of the school or organisation they represent.  With more than 30 sessions now live, this year's programme offers an opportunity to explore some of the most important questions facing education today.

The programme includes a wide range of inspiring keynotes, interactive workshops and thought-provoking discussions, with sessions covering topics including AI, cognitive science, coaching, sustainability and wellbeing.  Keynote speaker, Doug Lemov - Co-founder and Chief Knowledge Officer of Teach Like a Champion – will lead a longer list of sessions and the breadth of the programme reflects the reality of education today. The conversations taking place in schools are no longer confined to individual subjects or classrooms. Teachers and leaders are thinking about how artificial intelligence will change learning, how neuroscience and cognitive science can inform teaching, how we develop people through effective coaching, and how schools can support both student and staff wellbeing.  The Festival provides a space to explore these questions together.

Whether you are interested in the opportunities and challenges presented by AI, looking to deepen your understanding of how students learn, exploring new approaches to leadership and coaching, or considering the role of sustainability and wellbeing in schools, there is something within the programme to engage you. 

A festival for the whole education community

One of the strengths of the Thailand Festival of Education is that it brings together people from across the education sector. While Wellington College Bangkok is proud to host the Festival, the event is not a Wellington College event. It is an opportunity for educators from international schools, Thai schools and other educational organisations to come together, exchange ideas and learn from one another.

That openness is central to the purpose of The Bridge.  Education is at its best when good ideas are shared. By bringing together people with different experiences, perspectives and areas of expertise, the Festival aims to create conversations that continue well beyond the day itself.
