Joining Wellington College Bangkok is a straightforward and personalised process designed to help every family find the right pathway for their child. As a selective British international school, we welcome applications for students aged 2 to 18, from Early Years through to A Levels. Our Admissions Team will guide you through each stage, from your initial enquiry and school visit to assessment, offer and enrolment, ensuring you have all the information and support you need to make an informed decision.
Stage 1 - Enquiry & School Visit
Families are encouraged to contact the Admissions Team and arrange a campus tour. This provides an opportunity to visit the school, meet staff and learn more about the curriculum and facilities before applying. For those located outside of Bangkok who are unable to visit in person, we offer both a 360 Virtual Tour of the campus and online meetings to talk through information about the school as well as to answer any queries.
Stage 2 - Application
Submit a completed online Application Form together with the application fee of THB 6,000. Application payments can be made during a school visit or by email with proof of bank transfer.
Stage 3 - Supporting Documentation
Applicants are required to provide:
- Child's passport or birth certificate
- Parents' passport copies
- Digital student photograph
- Digital parent photographs
- Current address and contact information
- Medical information, supported by medical reports, where applicable
- Thai ID card and House Registration (Thai nationals only)
- Recent school reports, supported by educational support documentation, where applicable
- Details of a referee at the child’s current school
Stage 4 - Admissions Assessment
Early Years
- ‘Stay and Play’ classroom observation (usually 20-30 minutes)
- No formal assessment
Years 1-2
- Meeting with relevant Junior School leadership team
- Observation of academic ability, behaviour and social interaction
Years 3-6
- CAT4 English, Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning assessment (usually 60-90 minutes)
- Additional EAL assessment, where needed (usually 30 minutes)
- Writing assessment (usually 20 minutes)
- Meeting with relevant Junior School leadership team
Years 7 and above
- CAT4 English, Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning assessment (usually 90 minutes)
- Additional EAL assessment, where needed (usually 30 minutes)
- Writing assessment (usually 20 minutes)
- Interview with relevant Senior School leadership team
- Students looking to enter Year 12 may be asked to take relevant mock IGCSE test papers
Stage 5 - Admissions Decision
Once all documentation has been received, including a reference from the applicant's current school, the admissions decision is normally communicated within 48 hours.
Offers for A Level programme (Year 12) are conditional upon achieving the required public examination results relevant to the chosen subjects. Where base grades are not achieved, discussions with the academic team will be needed to discuss alternate subject options.
Stage 6 - Acceptance of Offer
Families are asked to confirm acceptance of their offer within 10 days by returning the signed offer letter and terms and conditions.
Stage 7 - Enrolment
A place is secured once the non-refundable enrolment fee has been paid within the specified acceptance period.

→ Applications and assessments can be completed within 24hrs if needed for immediate enrolment.
→ Families located overseas can complete the enquiry, digital school visit, application and assessment online, if needed.
→ Application fee: THB 6,000.
→ Wellington College Bangkok is academically selective and can provide targeted learning support, including EAL provision, where needed.
→ Very good English levels are required for entry to Year 10 and above, where EAL support is not officially provided.
→ Applications are accepted throughout the academic year, subject to places being available.
→ Scholarship applications – for exceptionally talented students in academics, music and various sports – are accepted throughout the year for external applicants.
