Ellie Goodes
PE Teacher
Physical Education
Ms Ellie Goodes joined Wellington Bangkok in August 2025. She graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Coaching. She then took on a Sports Graduate role at Shrewsbury School (UK), supporting GCSE and A-Level PE lessons while coaching a variety of sports. Ms Goodes later earned her Postgraduate Certificate in Education with a focus on Secondary Physical Education from Durham University. Her first teaching post has been at Rossall School, UK, where she taught GCSE and BTEC Sport and recently coordinated the BTEC programme. Beyond the classroom, she has organised several international trips, including ski trips to the USA, volunteering in Ghana, and a hockey tour to the Netherlands. “Teaching Physical Education should not be measured solely by the level at which students perform, but by the invaluable opportunities it provides to cultivate physical well-being, mental resilience, and a chance for students to have an outlet. This is why teaching Physical Education is a passion of mine, you do not have to excel within Sport in order to gain from Physical Education lessons. The teaching of GCSE and A Level Physical Education plays a critical role in developing students’ understanding of the complex relationship between physical activity, health, and human performance. The main reason I enjoy teaching physical education is how it develops transferable skills such as leadership, teamwork, and resilience.”
