Wellington College Bangkok Celebrates Truly Exceptional IGCSE Results

This week, Wellington College Bangkok is celebrating an exceptional set of IGCSE results, with our students achieving outstanding academic success across a wide range of subjects.

These results are a testament to the ambition, determination and hard work of our students, supported by their teachers and families.

Exceptional IGCSE Results

Our students have achieved an outstanding set of IGCSE results, with 80% of all confirmed grades awarded at A* or A, and 57% of all grades awarded at A*. 

While many individual subjects saw a clean sweep of A*s and A grades, 40% of our students also had A*/As across the board, with an incredible 19% of students being awarded straight A*s.  These are remarkable results, and they reflect both the academic ability of our students and the culture of ambition that has been established at Wellington. Our students are encouraged to challenge themselves and to be ambitious in everything they do - these results demonstrate what can be achieved when that ambition is combined with hard work and outstanding teaching.

A First-Class Foundation for the Future

The success of our IGCSE students comes at an exciting time for Wellington College Bangkok, with our first ever Year 13 cohort also celebrating their A Level results this year.  Half of all A Level grades were awarded at A* or A, while 73% of all grades were at A* to B grades. The cohort achieved a 100% pass rate, and, most significantly, every student secured a place at their first-choice university.

The Class of 2026 has received more than 150 university offers from institutions around the world, including Imperial College London, Kings College London, UCL, Stanford University, Yale University and Columbia University.  For our first graduating cohort, these results and university destinations represent a remarkable achievement. They also provide a powerful indication of what Wellington students can go on to achieve as they progress through the College.

Celebrating our Students

Results days are ultimately about the students themselves. Behind every grade are months and years of hard work, perseverance and determination. For some students, these results represent achieving a grade they had been working towards for a long time. For others, they represent exceeding their own expectations.  Whatever their individual results, we are incredibly proud of every student who has worked so hard to reach this point.

The achievements of this year's cohort demonstrate the strength of the academic education at Wellington College Bangkok and the opportunities available to our students. From outstanding individual performances to exceptional results across entire subjects, this is a year worth celebrating.  Congratulations to all of our IGCSE students. You have given the whole Wellington community plenty to be proud of.

A School Built for Ambition

Our academic results are an important part of a Wellington education, but they are also just the beginning. Wellington's Senior School is designed to give students the academic challenge, personal development and preparation they need to take their next steps with confidence. Students study a range of IGCSE subjects alongside a broad programme of enrichment, leadership, service and preparation for university and life beyond school. 

For families considering Wellington for Year 10 or Year 12, there are still a limited number of spaces remaining.  There is also a significant financial benefit for students entering our Sixth Form this year. Every student joining the cohort will receive a THB 500,000 credit against tuition fees, spread across the five terms of Year 12 and Year 13.
