Wellington College Bangkok Celebrates Its First Ever Graduating Class

On 25 June 2026, Wellington College Bangkok celebrated a truly historic milestone as the school's first ever Year 13 cohort graduated.

The ceremony marked the culmination of years of learning, growth, friendship and achievement for 37 pioneering students who will forever hold a special place in the history of the school. Among them were multiple founding students who joined Wellington when the school first opened its doors in 2018, helping to shape the culture, traditions and spirit of the community that exists today.

For many families, staff and students, the occasion was both a celebration and a moment of reflection. Having watched the school grow from its earliest days into a thriving all-through school, the graduating Class of 2026 has experienced every stage of Wellington's journey firsthand.

Throughout their time at Wellington, these students have embodied the values that sit at the heart of a Wellington education: Kindness, Courage, Respect, Integrity and Responsibility. These values underpin daily life across the College and have helped shape a cohort known not only for its academic success, but also for its character, leadership and contribution to the wider community.

The achievements of this first graduating class have already established an impressive legacy.  Students have secured offers from some of the world's leading universities, including Stanford, Yale, Columbia, Northwestern, Imperial College London, University College London, the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, the University of Melbourne, the University of Sydney and many other prestigious institutions across the United Kingdom, North America, Australia, Europe, Hong Kong and Thailand. Their destinations reflect not only exceptional academic achievement, but also the breadth of interests and ambitions that define the cohort. 

Graduates will go on to pursue a remarkable range of pathways, including Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine-related disciplines, Business, Economics, Humanities, Design, Performing Arts and Creative Industries. Together, they represent the diversity of talent that Wellington seeks to nurture and develop. 

Wellington College Bangkok’s Master, Christopher Nicholls, reflected on the significance of the occasion and the journey the cohort has shared with the school.

"These students have grown alongside Wellington itself. We have watched them develop into thoughtful, capable and ambitious young adults, and we could not be prouder of what they have achieved. As they leave us for universities and opportunities around the world, my message is simple: Be excellent. And be excellent to each other."

Mr Nicholls added that while academic success is important, the true measure of a Wellingtonian lies in the way they contribute to the lives of others and the communities they become part of.

The graduation ceremony also marked the beginning of a lifelong connection with the Wellington family. As members of the Wellington College Bangkok Alumni Network, graduates will remain part of a global community that extends beyond Thailand to include alumni from Wellington College UK and schools across the wider Wellington family around the world.

While the ceremony celebrated the end of one chapter, it also looked ahead to the future. Whether pursuing their studies in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, Hong Kong or Thailand, the Class of 2026 leaves Wellington with the knowledge, skills and character to make a positive impact wherever their journeys take them.

Everyone at Wellington College Bangkok extends their warmest congratulations to this exceptional group of young people. We thank them for the role they have played in shaping our school, wish them every success and happiness in the years ahead, and look forward to following their achievements as members of our alumni community for many years to come.

The next milestone awaits in August, when the cohort receives its A Level results. Whatever those outcomes may be, the Class of 2026 has already secured its place in Wellington history.
