Growing Up Wellington: Meet Our Founding Students
Growing Up Wellington: Our Founding Students Look Back
26 October 2026
When Wellington College Bangkok opened its doors in 2018, some of its youngest founding students were taking their very first steps into school life in Pre-Nursery. Today, those children are in Year 6, preparing for their move to Senior School in 2027.
Our video, Growing Up Wellington, gives several of these students the chance to tell their own stories. From memories of their first day to favourite teachers, their reflections offer a personal glimpse of what it has meant to grow up at Wellington.
For these children, the school's history is also their own. As Wellington has grown, they have grown with it, developing friendships, discovering interests, and becoming increasingly confident in who they are. The youngest pupils of our opening year are now among the oldest in the Junior School, with an opportunity to set an example for those following in their footsteps.
Along the way, they have been learning what it means to live our values of Courage, Kindness, Respect, Integrity, and Responsibility. These values take shape in everyday school life: finding the confidence to try something unfamiliar, supporting a friend, and taking responsibility for their actions. Their journey reflects the importance of giving children time, encouragement, and opportunities to flourish, both as learners and as people.
Their move into Senior School in 2027 will bring new subjects, different routines, and greater independence. They will take that next step with years of shared experience behind them and much more still to discover. But there is another milestone further along the horizon. As the Class of 2034, they are on course to become Wellington's first students to complete the entire journey from Pre-Nursery to graduation. It is a special place in the school's story, but for now, we are delighted to hear that story in their own words.
