Mr William Statham is the Head of Science and Biology teacher at Wellington Bangkok from August 2025. Mr Statham graduated from Southampton University with a BSc in Biology and then took his PGCE at Reading University. He spent three years at Reading Blue Coat School teaching Biology and coaching rowing, followed by four years at Marlborough College Malaysia where he became Head of Biology and most importantly met his wife, Rosie. Together they moved back to the UK, got married, and had two children; Annie is five and Norah is two. In the UK Mr Statham worked at Churcher’s College teaching Biology, he also coached the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Marathon team. Following six years at Churcher’s, Mr Statham moved to Cranleigh and is currently the Head of Biology there. Mr Statham likes to use his spare time being active outdoors and particularly on the water. He is also a keen saxophonist and will talk about jazz whenever he can find someone willing to listen. "Sciences were always the subjects that I enjoyed most at school and it is so exciting for me to share this with students today. I love discussions around how scientific understanding can help us to make sense of the world and aid us in our pursuits.
