Wellington College International School Bangkok is a British international school in Bangkok providing a co-educational education for students aged 2 to 18. We follow the National Curriculum for England, adapted to reflect its Thai and international context, and offers a continuous educational journey from Pre-Nursery through to A Levels.

Wellington College Bangkok is located on Krungthep Kreetha Road in Saphan Sung, eastern Bangkok. The campus is conveniently positioned between central Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi Airport, with easy access from areas including Rama 9, Srinakarin, Bangna and other eastern districts.  Our families are located across Bangkok city.

Our school is located on approximately 70 rai, or 28 acres, of landscaped grounds. The campus includes dedicated Early Years, Junior School and Senior School facilities, sports pitches, swimming pools, specialist learning spaces, performing arts facilities and a lagoon.

Wellington College Bangkok opened in 2018 for Early Years and Junior School students and has since expanded to full Pre-Nursery to Year 13 cohorts, with the first Year 13 students graduating in 2026. It is part of the wider Wellington College family, whose founding school in Berkshire, England, was established in the nineteenth century.

Wellington College Bangkok welcomes students from the age of 2. The Early Years begins with Pre-Nursery, followed by Nursery and Reception, before students progress into Junior School and then Senior School.

The School offers Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception, followed by Years 1 to 13. Students can therefore remain at Wellington throughout their education from age 2 to 18.

Applications are welcomed throughout the year, subject to availability and the assessment process. Mid-year entry may be possible where places are available.

We recommend families begin the admissions process as early as possible, particularly for year groups where demand is high. However, applications are accepted throughout the year and the Admissions Team can advise families about availability for their preferred year group and entry date.

Families should first make an enquiry with the Admissions Team. Once you are ready to apply, you can complete the online application form and submit the required supporting documents. The Admissions Team will then guide you through the assessment and admissions process.

Yes. Wellington College Bangkok is an academically selective school and applicants are assessed according to their age and year group. The assessment process is designed to help us understand each child's strengths, needs and readiness for the Wellington curriculum.

The assessment varies according to the age of the child. Younger children may undertake age-appropriate activities designed to assess their development and readiness for school. Older students may undertake academic assessments, interviews and other tasks appropriate to their year group.

Yes. Families applying from overseas can submit their application and supporting documents remotely. Remote assessments are also available for families who are living outside Thailand.

Yes. English language support forms part of our wider Learning Support provision. The aim is to help students develop the English skills they need to access the curriculum and become increasingly independent learners.

Yes. Learning Support is available to students with both short-term and longer-term learning needs. As part of the admissions process, families should provide relevant information about their child's learning profile so that the School can determine whether appropriate support can be provided.

Following the assessment, the Admissions and Academic Teams review the application, assessment results and relevant school reports. The School aims to communicate an admissions decision by email within two working days of the assessment, and sooner in most cases.

Successful applicants receive a formal Letter of Offer outlining the year group, term of entry and conditions of enrolment. Families then secure the place by completing the required acceptance documentation and paying the applicable Registration Fee.

Yes. Visiting the campus is strongly recommended. Families can arrange a personalised campus tour and see the learning environment, facilities and school community before making a decision.  Families located outside of Bangkok who can’t visit in person are welcome to take a virtual/online consultation with Admissions and academic staff, and also utilise our online 360 Virtual Campus Tour.

Families can complete the school visit form on the website and the Admissions Team will contact you to arrange a suitable time. Weekday admissions tours are typically available at 9:30am and 1:00pm, subject to availability, but we are flexible based on the needs of individual families.

Yes. Families can visit before applying. Open Mornings and admissions tours provide opportunities to learn more about Wellington and discuss your child's needs with the Admissions Team.

Wellington is an English-medium international school, so students need sufficient English to access the curriculum. We also recognise that students come from a wide range of linguistic backgrounds and provides support for students who need additional help with English.

School fees vary according to year group and academic year. The current fee schedule is published on the School website. Families should always refer to the latest fee schedule or speak with the Admissions Team for the most up-to-date information.

In addition to tuition fees, families should consider the Application Fee, Registration Fee and Security Deposit. There may also be additional costs associated with transport, uniforms, trips and optional activities.

Yes. The current Application Fee is THB 6,000 and is non-refundable.

Yes. A Security Deposit of THB 175,000 is currently payable. This is refundable upon graduation or withdrawal, subject to the School's terms and conditions.

The current scholarship programme offers awards of up to 70% remission of tuition fees for successful candidates, depending on the scholarship and individual circumstances.

Yes. Scholarship applications are welcomed from suitably qualified students currently attending Wellington as well as students applying from other schools in Thailand and overseas.

The Early Years comprises Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception. Pre-Nursery is generally for children aged 2, Nursery for children aged 3 and Reception for children aged 4, according to the School's age requirements.

The Early Years follows the Early Years Foundation Stage approach, providing a balance of structured learning, exploration, play and developmentally appropriate experiences.

Our Early Years provision is designed around small groups and high levels of adult support. Our Early Years policy specifies an adult-to-child ratio of 1:4 in Pre-Nursery and 1:5 in Nursery.

Yes. Lunch is provided as part of the school day and Early Years children eat together in the Early Years dining hall.

Children can join Pre-Nursery without toilet-training being completed, but are expected to have completed the process before joining or moving up into Nursery.

Wellington provides opportunities for children and parents to become familiar with the Early Years environment before the start of term through ‘Stay and Play’ sessions. The approach is designed to help children develop confidence and establish relationships with their teachers and classmates.  Usually there is a ‘Stay & Play’ to initial assess each child prior to offering a place, and where possible, a second after acceptance to help become re-accustomed to the learning spaces ahead of the first day.  Out ‘staggered start’ system helps children to settle in and become confident.

The Junior School covers Years 1 to 6.  This is the equivalent of Kindergarten to Grade 5 in the US and some other international systems.

The Junior School follows the National Curriculum for England, enhanced to make learning relevant and meaningful for Wellington's international community.

Wellington uses a Maths Mastery approach, with a strong focus on mathematical reasoning, problem-solving and developing a secure understanding of mathematical concepts.

We treat each student as an individual and aim to provide a broad range of academic, creative, sporting and enrichment opportunities. Teachers work closely with students to understand their strengths, interests and areas for development.

Students follow a British secondary curriculum. Years 10 and 11 lead to IGCSE qualifications, while Years 12 and 13 follow the A Level pathway.

IGCSEs, or International General Certificates of Secondary Education, are internationally recognised qualifications typically studied by students aged 14 to 16. They are broadly equivalent to GCSE qualifications in England. Our most recent IGCSE examination results saw 80% of grades awarded at A*/A.

Wellington offers a broad range of IGCSE subjects across areas including English, mathematics, sciences, humanities, languages, creative subjects and other academic disciplines. Subject availability can vary, so families should consult the latest IGCSE subject information.

The Sixth Form comprises Years 12 and 13 and is the final stage of the Wellington education. Students study A Levels alongside an extended programme of enrichment, wellbeing, service, supported study and university guidance.

Yes. Wellington welcomes applications from students currently studying at Wellington and from students joining from other schools in Thailand and overseas.  Those joining Year 12 in 2026/27 and 2027/28 are also eligible for the THB 500,000 Sixth Form Award.

Year 11 and Year 13 entry is complex as subjects need to match based on studies at the current school and consideration is needed to examination boards and content studied.  However, we do consider students for entry on a case-by-case basis according to the student's circumstances, academic pathway and availability. Families should contact Admissions to discuss the appropriate entry point.

Wellington College Bangkok's Sixth Form pathway is based on A Levels. We do not currently offer the IB Diploma Programme.

Students receive specialist university guidance throughout the Sixth Form. Dedicated university counsellors support students with choosing courses and universities, preparing applications and personal statements, and understanding the requirements of different countries and institutions.  The process starts in Key Stage 3 as students are guided and supported with subject choices ahead of IGCSEs and then further still into A Levels.  Discussions on career pathways, including careers talks from specialists are common.  As students progress through Key Stage 5, preparation for university applications and interviews intensifies, with specialists throughout the school providing tailored advice.

Wellington students progress to universities around the world, including leading universities in the UK, USA and elsewhere.  Our 2026 graduates received offers from Imperial, UCL, LSE, Kings College London, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, and many more across the globe, including top tier Thai universities such as Chulalongkorn. The campus includes both 25-metre and 50-metre Olympic sized swimming pools.  Students begin with water confidence sessions at an early age and develop via both the PE/Sports curriculum and additional swimming activities.  Our Elite swimming programme is led by a former Olympian and Commonwealth multiple gold medallist.

Yes. Wellington has a structured golf development programme ranging from beginner opportunities to competitive pathways. Students can access specialist facilities and coaching, with opportunities to compete in school, national and international competitions.  Our Elite golf programme is led by a PGA specialist coach.

Wellbeing is an integral part of school life at Wellington. Students are supported through pastoral systems, teachers, tutors, the House system and a dedicated wellbeing programme.  Wellington College UK is a pioneer and the first private school in the UK to embed wellbeing specifically within the curriculum, and we follow this pathway closely.

The House system provides students with a strong sense of belonging and community. Many of our prospective families remark on the similarities to what they’ve seen in the Harry Potter movies, where students are placed into Houses and Tutor Groups containing students from different year groups.  While we don’t have a sorting hat per se, these groupings help in creating a smaller community within the wider School, supporting both friendly competition and collegiality amongst the groups.  The system follows Wellington College UK and our Houses follow their names.

In the Junior School, the Class Teacher plays a central and pivotal role in overseeing each child's wellbeing and development. This enables teachers to build a strong understanding of each individual student, enabling them to support and develop each of them on a personal level.

Yes. Wellington has school counsellors as part of our wider pastoral and wellbeing provision.  These staff work closely with the academic and leadership team in order to truly understand each student’s individual circumstances.

Learning Support is available throughout the School. Support is primarily delivered inclusively within the classroom, with additional intervention and individualised support provided where appropriate.

Yes. School lunch is provided for all students. Meals are freshly prepared each day and students eat in dedicated dining areas according to their age group

Yes. Wellington operates a daily school bus service in partnership with Montri Transportation Service. The service covers a number of areas across Bangkok and families can choose between round-trip and single-journey transport.

School transport is available subject to the relevant age and readiness requirements. The minimum age for the School Bus service is currently five years old.

The buses include safety features such as seat belts, CCTV, GPS tracking and communication systems. Journeys are supervised by trained Bus Monitors.

The Wellington College Bangkok School Shop is located beside the Theatre near the Senior School car park. It sells the full Wellington uniform as well as a selection of additional/optional items.
