Ms Hollie Shipley joined Wellington College Bangkok in August 2021, where she taught Reception for two years before moving to KS1. She has now been teaching Year 1 for 3 years and is excited to continue teaching this age group. She graduated from the University of the West of England in 2016 with a degree specialising in Early Years Education and has since had experience in working in schools both in the UK and in Bangkok, mainly based in the Early Years. At her previous school in Bangkok, she was Head of Early Years, and through this role, she was responsible for developing the curriculum and supporting the teaching staff to ensure the development of high-quality teaching and learning in Early Years. She has also had recent experience in leading Early Years Phonics, where she supported curriculum development and high-quality teaching and learning. 

“Since beginning my journey in education, I have been passionate about encouraging student enthusiasm, inspiring a life-long love for learning and developing student’s individuality to promote a sense of self-worth. I firmly believe that wellbeing should be at the centre of everything I do. If I have a happy and positive classroom, students will have a better understanding of how to deal with and overcome any challenges they may face with resilience and determination. This will, in turn, help them to reach their full potential.”
