Bringing the Library to Our Pre-Nursery Children

30 October 2026

In Week 7, our Junior School Library team visited our Pre-Nursery children for the very first time. It was a special opportunity to introduce the library team, get to know the children, and begin building positive relationships through books, reading, and play.

As part of our Mobile Library initiative, we brought a book cart filled with a wonderful selection of books for the children to explore. This marked their first library book-borrowing experience! The children were encouraged to browse the collection and choose a book independently, helping them develop confidence, make their own choices, and feel excited about borrowing books.

Beyond exploring books, we also enjoyed reading and playing with the children. These shared experiences helped foster trust and positive relationships, allowing the children to gradually become familiar and comfortable with the library team in their own classroom environment.

Our Mobile Library initiative aims to bring the joy of reading directly to our youngest learners by introducing books in a familiar and welcoming space before they are ready to visit the library themselves. Through regular visits, independent book choices, shared stories, and playful interactions, we hope to nurture their curiosity, build their confidence, and foster a lifelong love of reading.

We look forward to continuing this journey with our Pre-Nursery children as they discover the wonderful world of books and grow more confident in their library experiences!
