Joel studied Economics at the University of Exeter and went on to work in the City of London for eight as a derivatives trader, specialising in European equity futures. He later retrained as a teacher focusing on Business, Economics and Mathematics and has taught in five independent schools, three in the UK, one in Kenya and the other in China. Previous roles have included Head of Department, Housemaster, Assistant Head Academic and Assistant Principal Boarding and Co-curricular. His strong holistic approach to education, supports and nurtures successful and happy students. A Leader by example, he sets the highest of standards for all as “we are all capable of achieving great things. In my lessons I seek to create a culture in which every person can grow and flourish, develop their independent learning skills and nurture a community that becomes greater than the sum of its parts. “ In August 2024 Joel took on the important inaugural role of Sixth Form House Tutor.
