Kevin Phekanan joined the Business and Economics department at Wellington College Bangkok in August 2024. Kevin graduated from University College London with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with Qualified Teacher Status. He has also graduated from the University of Kent with a MSc in Management and a BA in Law and Economics. His initial teaching role was at Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration School in Bangkok. He returned to the UK in 2019 to take up roles at Phoenix Academy and Marylebone Boys’ School. During his five years in London, he has taught GCSE and A Level Business, Economics and Physics. He has been teaching at Marylebone Boys’ school since 2022 and is currently the Head of Department for Business and Economics. " We are not just teaching Business & Economics, we are empowering our students to be economically literate. The theoretical concepts truly come to life when students interact with business professionals. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to share my passion for the subjects with the students at Wellington College Bangkok. Business and Economics allows students to develop their analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills enabling students to make informed decisions through higher-order critical thinking. One of the main reasons I enjoy teaching Business and Economics is the epiphany on the faces of students when they are able to connect the dots and relate theoretical concepts to real life."
