Roland Madrigal joined us as a whole School Counselor in August 2024. Roland, brings over a decade of experience in the field of Mental Health. He has worked in public and private schools, major corporations, and mental health and addiction rehabilitation centres. He has engaged with different age groups facing various mental health concerns, provided training and development for many companies, collaborated with mental health professionals, youth groups, and advocates to promote Mental Health awareness in any way he can. Most recently, he was working in Thailand in the addiction recovery industry. He has now found himself going back to his roots and foundation, School Counseling. After getting his degree in Psychology, he went on to pursue his graduate degree in Counseling while mainly working with High School and University students. In 2022, he came to Thailand to work in one of the country's biggest healthcare groups as part of a Psychological Testing team for medical professionals. After that project, he was recruited to work and help run Thailand's first International Adolescent Addiction Treatment programme for clients aged 13-17. This reignited his passion and motivated him to go back to Adolescent Counseling. "When I was in my teens, I was looking at myself and my peers wanting to get help and help others. What I saw was how limited the resources were and how it could have been helpful if there were more mental health support available as we faced our own battles. I am dedicated to being of help to anyone who reaches out and to identify those who are at risk of falling through the cracks. However, I have learned that no one can do this alone and no one should. And so, I want everyone to know that I am here to listen and help but I will need your help with that too."
