As a top academic school, we expect our students go on to the very best in higher education: Oxford, Cambridge, other leading UK universities, top medical and dental schools, pre-eminent art and drama schools, and Ivy League and other outstanding institutions in the USA. “A huge team of specialist university advisers and counsellors, who work across the Wellington College family of schools – here in Bangkok as well as in our top schools in China and, of course, Wellington College in England – ensure that every one our students receives expert guidance in all matters of the application process, from choosing courses and universities to writing personal statements.” In Year 12 students participate in a full university induction programme and have the opportunity to attend various higher education-focused events. Wellingtonians are supported in their career aspirations by our Careers and Higher Education Department, which oversee work placements, careers lectures, university fairs, and gap year opportunities. Sixth Formers have the opportunity to take Centigrade, an interest-based questionnaire administered by Cambridge Occupational Analysts which matches their interests and abilities with Higher Education courses and institutions. Due to the strength of the global Wellington network, we are also able to fit Sixth Formers’ career aspirations with relevant Old Wellingtonians and parents across all sectors, who can offer valuable advice, support and even work experience.

Wellington College Bangkok is proud to share the university offers received by its inaugural Year 13 cohort, the Class of 2026. As the College’s first graduating class, this represents a significant milestone, and one that reflects both the ambition of our students and the strength of the education they have experienced at Wellington. To date, students have secured 150 offers from leading universities across the world. These include a number of institutions ranked among the very best globally, such as Imperial College London, Stanford University, Yale University, University College London and Columbia University. Alongside these, students have also received offers from a wide range of highly respected universities including The University of Hong Kong, University of Toronto, The University of Manchester, Loughborough University, The University of Warwick, The University of Edinburgh, University of Bristol, Durham University, The University of Melbourne, Chulalongkorn University, and many more. The breadth of courses chosen reflects the diversity of interests within the cohort. Students will go on to study subjects including Engineering, Law, Music, Mathematics, Science, Accounting and Business, Marketing, Biomedical Engineering, Sports Science, Sports Management, Computer Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Medicine, Psychology, Graphic Design, Economics and Fashion Design. In addition, one student has been awarded a full golf scholarship to study in the United States. The distribution of offers highlights Wellington’s truly international outlook. Approximately two-thirds of offers have come from universities in the United Kingdom, with around 10% from North America, 10% from Australia, and a further 10% from leading Thai universities, including Chulalongkorn University and Thammasat University.
Reflecting on these outcomes, the Master of Wellington College International Bangkok, Mr. Chris Nicholls, commented: “The quality of the offers received so far is testament to the commitment of both our students and academic staff in preparing for applications and interviews at elite universities and college across the globe, and follows from our exceptional IGCSE results in 2025, from which 70% of all awards were at A* or A grade.”
