Chunzi Tian joined Wellington College International School Bangkok in August 2020. Passionate about second language acquisition, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Huaqiao University in China and a master’s degree in English Language Teaching from Assumption University in Thailand. She also holds several teaching certifications, including the Chinese National Teacher Certification for Secondary Education, the Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (CTCSOL), and the Thai Teaching License. With over a decade of teaching experience, Ms. Tian has taught students from China and various Southeast Asian countries, ranging from EYFS to adults. She has taught a variety of levels and courses, including Chinese as a first, second, and foreign language, and has worked with YCT, HSK, and IGCSE curricula. Her students have achieved numerous awards in Chinese language competitions, reflecting her commitment to excellence. Her love for education and Thailand has inspired her to teach Mandarin in Thailand for 12 years. As a judge for the Southeast Asia Chinese Teacher Teaching Skills Competition, she has observed the growing impact of Chinese language education in Thailand. As a team leader, she is dedicated to enhancing the teaching quality of her team, and as an educator, she strives to ignite her students’ passion for Mandarin and elevate their proficiency. “A different language is a different vision of life.” Ms. Tian seeks to give her students the key to unlock new worlds. She believes that language is a powerful tool that empowers students to become global citizens, opening doors to a brighter future.
