Wellington Joins Kids’ Lit Quiz Thailand 2027

Wellington Readers Prepare for Kids’ Lit Quiz Thailand 2027

09 October 2026

Wellington College Bangkok will take part in Kids’ Lit Quiz Thailand 2027, with Year 7 and Year 8 students invited to apply to represent the school at the international literary competition.  This is just one part of our new ‘Wellington Reads’ project, aiming to further build on the excellent reading programmes already in place at the school.

Often described as the “Olympics of Reading”, Kids’ Lit Quiz brings together young readers to test their knowledge of children’s literature. Questions cover everything from fiction and poetry to comics, folktales, nursery rhymes and memorable characters, giving students the chance to share their enthusiasm for books while working together as a team.

The Thailand competition will take place on Friday 26 March 2027, at Bangkok Prep International School. Wellington can enter up to two teams of four students, with each team able to include students from both Year 7 and Year 8.

Our Library team is encouraging interested readers to put themselves forward. Alongside preparing for the tournament, students will have opportunities to discover new books, broaden their reading and build confidence in their literary knowledge.

Applications close on 16 October 2026 and any Wellington students wishing to take part should speak to the Senior School Librarian or their English teacher to register.

Further information about the competition is available at www.kidslitquiz.com.
